Montgomery Co. schools urges teachers to ‘align’ social media posts with ‘system’s values’

Teachers and staff at Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland are strongly urged to watch what they say on social media and make sure it “aligns” with the “system’s values” after four teachers were put on administrative leave.According to a letter sent by the school system’s chief operating officer, Brian Hull, there has been a rise of “staff accounts being reported on,” which Montgomery County Public Schools had to follow up on.“Social media activities may attract public attention, and nothing online is truly private,” Hull wrote. “Even in your private lives and when on social media, it’s essential to align with our school system’s values, uphold professionalism, and preserve your ability to serve the Montgomery County community.”The letter said that all Montgomery County school employees should assume that nothing is truly private that they post online.“Avoid assuming anonymity online, as the line b...

The vehicle is also missing a rear bumper. Boulder police release photos of suspect in fraudulent ID use, attempted theft

Man killed in wrong-way, multi-vehicle crash on E-470

DENVER (KDVR) -- More details have emerged in a deadly wrong-way crash that shut down southbound E-470 near York Street in Thornton for several hours Wednesday.According to Colorado State Patrol, the 86-year-old driver of a Dodge Caravan was from Loveland, did not use a seatbelt and died at the scene. Three other people were taken to a hospital after the crash. A 73-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Volt was seriously injured along with 72-year-old male passenger. Both were from Aurora. A 27-year-old woman from Loveland driving a Honda CR-V without a seatbelt was also seriously injured. BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — One Marshall Fire victim is reflecting on the approaching second anniversary after a major lifestyle change. Cassidy Gebhardt narrowly escaped the Marshall Fire two years ago, and he was severely burned in the process."When the wind shifted it pushed the fire from the building up onto the driveway where we were, and that was when we sustained the majority of our burns," Gebhardt said. "We ran as best we could, and it was very hard to run because we couldn’t breathe."Many people in his neighborhood chose to rebuild, but he chose a different path: van life. Man indicted by federal jury in carjackings, robberies in Denver area

DENVER (KDVR) -- A 20-year-old was indicted by a federal grand jury on 11 charges, including carjacking and robbery, related to crimes in the Denver metro area.Keenan Shane Clodfelter, 20, was indicted on three counts of carjacking, three counts of robbery and five counts of brandishing a firearm while carjacking and conducting a robbery. He is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado.
