'I heard a boom!': Man said F-35 jet shook home before crashing in South Carolina

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A man who lives in rural South Carolina said he heard what we now know was the crash of an unmanned military jet – but at the time, he had no idea it was a downed aircraft not far from his home.Randolph White, 72, retired from his job at the paper mill in Georgetown 10 years ago; he and his wife live in a very rural area of Williamsburg County.While he said it's typically quiet and peaceful where he lives, Sunday afternoon was anything but.“I was in the bathroom, taking a shave, and I heard a screeching. Georgetown man arrested, accused of assaulting 2 people, including 6-year-old, with bat

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) -- A 39-year-old man was arrested by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office after he was accused of assaulting two people, including a 6-year-old child last week, the agency confirmed in a news release.At approximately 5 a.m., Sept. 11, WCSO deputies responded to a disturbance at a home located in the 300 block of Rock Mill Loop in Georgetown, the release said.According to the investigation, detectives determined Logan forced entry into a home armed with a baseball bat and assaulted two people, including a 6-year-old. Both victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.According to WCSO, the incident was a random act, and the public is no longer in danger.Logan was charged with two first-degree felonies, including injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a family member, the release said.The case remains under investigation by WCSO.

9 Minnesota schools win prestigious National Blue Ribbon status

CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A video showing two Republican state senators from St. Charles County using flamethrowers at a fundraiser is drawing fire around the world.Social media posts claim they are burning books. Those posts are false.Still, Democrats are using the claims and the video to boost fundraising.The Republican fundraiser, called Freedom Fest, was held Friday night at the Sugar Creek Winery in Defiance. Southbound E-470 reopens at Peña Blvd. hours after multi-vehicle crash

Southbound E-470 at Peña Boulevard is open after a tractor-trailer crash closed the highway for most of the afternoon, according to E-470 officials.A semi-truck crossing the center median caused the crash, breaking through the cable barrier into oncoming traffic and colliding with vehicles headed southbound, E-470 spokesperson Jessica Carson wrote in an email. The crash was first reported at 1:22 p.m., according to the Colorado State Patrol.The collision closed southbound E-470 but was easily detoured by taking the Peña exit, Carson wrote. Stalking allegations lead to administrative leave for LAPD assistant chief

A high-ranking official with the Los Angeles Police Department has been placed on administrative leave after allegations he used an Apple AirTag to stalk another officer he was allegedly in a romantic relationship with, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.  The officer who made the allegations against LAPD’s Assistant Chief Al Labrada said she found the tracking device in a waterproof Pelican box inside of her vehicle and that the device was traced back to his city-issued smartphone. She filed a report about the tracking device with the Ontario Police Department on Sept. 7.  Labrada’s cell phone was reportedly confiscated shortly after the report was filed, with the officer also reporting the incident to internal affairs and the inspector general.  “We deny all of those allegations,” Jeremy Tissot, Labrada’s attorney, said at the time. “Those are false allegations, and we fully expect Mr. Labraba will be vindicated.” Los Angeles Police Departmen...
